Essential oil obtained by steam distillation of the leaves and flowering tops of Hyssopus officinalis. It comes from Europe. The main components of the essential oil include: cineol, thujone and betapinene together with other bicyclic monoterpenes. The essential oil makes up 0.3-0.9% of the fresh weight of the plant. Cosmetic properties: astringent, regenerating and soothing. Therapeutic properties: antispasmodic, carminative, digestive, sudorific, emmenagogue, expectorant, febrifuge and hypertensive. Emotional properties: it favours alertness and mental clarity. Great purifier. Antidepressant.
