The skin has a natural ability to regain its shape. Over time, the skin loses this "shape memory" to which it owes its consistency and firmness. This phenomenon is directly linked to collagen degradation. Collagen, which represents 80% of the composition of young skin, is the main protein that ensures the skin's resistance and gives it density. When it diminishes, the eye contour loses its tone, the eyes sag and no longer reflect light properly: the skin becomes dull and wrinkles are fixed around the eye. In 2013, Helena Rubinstein Laboratories revealed two fundamental collagens involved in the deformability of the dermis, the "shape memory" collagens: Collagens XII and XVI.
